The surface temperature of the rotor on the circuit varies more than you would imagine, from room temperature to over 600°C. This wide range of temperature changes promotes the expansion and contraction of iron, causing distortion and cracks. Heat-treated rotors intentionally release the internal stress in the metal structure, which is the source of expansion/contraction, during the manufacturing stage, reducing the degree of expansion and suppressing the occurrence of distortion and cracks. Heat-treated rotors do not directly increase the effectiveness of the brakes, but they make it less likely for distortion or cracks to occur, and they maintain stable effectiveness for a long time. The surface of the heat-treated rotor is burnt, but once it is used, the burnt surface is scraped off by the pads and changes to the normal cast iron base color. Even if the surface color changes, the effect of the heat treatment applied to the inside will remain unchanged, so please rest assured.
