| Product Description | The performance aspects that TM-SQUARE sought in the hood were to generate effective downforce and to release heat from the engine compartment. The distinctive inverted R-shape is designed to improve downforce by deflecting airflow upwards, while the central rib is designed to ensure the overall strength of the hood to handle that downforce. Furthermore, FRP (fiberglass) was chosen as the material for the hood to enable these complex shapes. Furthermore, "air outlets" are incorporated on both sides of the hood, as well as at the rear of both sides, to expel hot air from the engine compartment. Due to the transverse engine layout and the narrow, complex airflow within the engine compartment, fresh air drawn in from the front of the body cannot escape easily, and the pressure increases as the speed increases. As a result, the amount of fresh air drawn in decreases, creating a challenging cooling situation. The "air outlets" used in the TM-SQUARE hood are very small in size, but they are positioned in areas where the pressure on the hood is low while driving, effectively expelling hot air from the engine compartment. |
