Recent models designed with aerodynamics in mind have flattened underbodies, which improves aerodynamic performance but reduces the volume of air reaching the differential case, so differential oil temperatures tend to rise compared with older vehicles. The ZELE rear differential oil cooler for the 86 suppresses the rise in differential oil temperature, particularly during circuit use, and maintains L.S.D. performance by keeping the temperature in the correct range. The oil cooler core has 8 rows, aluminium stays are used for weight saving, and anodised treatment is applied to prevent corrosion over time. |
